Story by Jeremiah Gora

Alick Macheso, affectionately known by his legion fans launched his 13th album titled Kupa Kuturika at Alex Sports Club in Harare on the 2nd of August this year.

Kupa kuturika which literary means when you give something to someone you are guaranteed that one day you will benefit from the noble cause.

Kupa Kuturika, the phrase can be translated as seeding, meaning one will reap someday.

The month of August in Zimbabwe is known for programs such as Tombstone Unveiling, Kurova Makuva where families gather for a common purpose and they share love, grief and memories.

In a heartwarming show of community spirit, fans of the vhayeya.com came together and donated food stuffs, baby clothes, and other items to the Dune family in ward 3 Chikomba East on Sunday.

The Dune family was further expanded with the arrival of triplets, bringing their total number of children to a staggering six.

Addressing the gathering at his homestead, Mr Dune announced the names of the girls.

“The first one is called Makanakaishe, followed by Mazviitaishe and lastly Matipaishe,” announced Mr Dune who consistently had difficulties in identifying the girls.

As Baba Shero has alluded in one of his recent songs titled Zvichada Hama, indeed the there is a point in life one needs help from his or her relatives.

Mai Dune is being assisted by her close relatives in monitoring the girls during this critical stage of their lives.

Speaking at the handover of the donated goods, Chairperson of the Committee and Councilor Cde Moreblessing Mushure thanked Vhayeya.com fans for their support to the family.

“First and foremost I want to thank you all for sacrificing your precious time and coming here. As fans we had acted swiftly after hearing about the birth of the triplets.

“Thank you so much for extending help to the family as vhayeya.com fans. I would also like to thank the Vhayeya.com reporters for reporting such kind of news to the community. Without them we were not able to know this development,” she said.

Blessed is the hand that giveth because it will recieve abundantly (Luke 6 v 38).

During my primary school days at Musirikwi Primary School in the 90s, I developed a close bond with a female classmate, and we quickly became best friends, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences with each other.

Her mother was a teacher at the same school and I vividly remember that we use to share a freezit until the last tasteless ice block.

The love we have for each other as Zimbabweans differentiate us from other people.

What happened to my Agape love with my bestie is a story for another day.

As Zimbabweans we do not leave in a vacuum, we celebrate as a community, we also together as a community, that is who we are.

When one of us has achieved something we say Makorokoto, and the person replies ndeedu tese, meaning the achievement does not belong to one person but to the whole community.

Likewise, when death occurs we say, Nematambudziko and the reply is Aoneka.

A process known as Kubata maoko is practiced by Zimbabweans, whereby we offer support to the bereaved family.

In the neighborhood females collect mealie meal, mari yechema to help during the course of the funeral.

This process unites us as Zimbabweans and Vhayeya.com fans emulated the spirit of Ubuntu and togetherness by donating to the Dune family.

According to our tradition as Zimbabweans, a child belongs to everyone.

I rember doing grade 3 back in 1998 and I had played truant and was beaten by my friend’s father.

I know that most of you are now busy culculating the age of the writer, please that is a story for another day.

I did not report the incident to my parents because I knew that they would beat me again instead of confronting their neighbor.

That is what makes us as Zimbabweans.

Addressing the gathering at Dune homestead, Vhayeya.com founder, Senior Reporter and Chikomba East Constituency Co-ordinator Mr Lovemore Masunungure said vhayeya.com said Vhayeya.com’s vision is to be the voice of the voiceless.

“As Vhayeya.com we are village reporters who reports village stories. After hearing the news about the birth of the triplets i personally visited the family as Constituency Co-ordinator.

“After having conversations with the family i then realized the need to help the family and i then reported the story to our fans as a journalist,” said Masunungure.

He went on to say that journalism is not only known for breaking news.

“21st journalism is not for breaking news only, as journalists we must practice Solution Journalism, Ubuntu Journalism. That is what drove me to report the need and encouraged our fans to come up with a solution to help the Dune family.

“I would like to thank the fans for responding swiftly and we are here today,” he said.

Mr Lovemore Masunungure also announced that Chikomba East Constituency MP, Honourable Felix Tapiwa Mhona has pledged to support the family by constructing a house for them.

Masunungure thanked Vhayeya.com fans and urged them to continue helping the needy.

The Vhayeya.com fans Committee was led by Councillor Moreblessing Mushure as Chairperson, Transport and Mobilisation Cde Bishi, Secretary Rumbi Mhandu, Treasurer Chikomba RDC Council Chairperson Cde Israel Dhikinya and Catering team led by Anesu Rwodzi.

I am looking forward to hear more songs from Kupa Kuturika album.

I happen to be one such lucky guy as Alick Macheso is scheduled to invade Mutoko, my home area at Dhana Leisure for his first Album Outreach Tour.

The six track album songs are Kuverengera, Undiregererwo, Zvichada hama, Murangarire, Kunditaya and Hunhu hwakashata.

Vhayeya.com fans had an opportunity later to celebrate at Sadza growth point.

Ukama igasva, hunozadziswa nekuda kana nekunwa

While celebrating Vhayeya.com again received good news of another triplets who were recently born in Mutare.
