Chikomba community answers to President E.D Mnangagwa’s nyika inovakwa nevene vayo call as they come together to support government’s road infrastructure development in the area.
One of the coordinators of the initiative Lydia Rufu based in the UK said the initiative was meant to make road passable with smaller vehicles especially during holidays when traffic increases.
The community well coordinated by some diasporians has initiated the rehabilitation of Binya roads from Range to Masasa, especially on areas that need urgent attention before the start of the rain season.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Hon F.T Mhona has hailed the initiative and called upon more and more sons and daughters of the constituency to come with such arrangements.
“This is commendable and on our part as government and the ministry, we appreciate such efforts because indeed Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo as the President, His Excellency Cde, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has always said,” he said.
The Minister also instructed his Provincial Road Engineer Mr Pasi to assist the community with technical requirements as the road is a public road that falls under RIDA.
