His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa has issued a statement following the passing of Archbishop Ernest Paul Mamvura Mwazha, who died last Thursday at the age of 107.

The President described the revered spiritual leader and founder of the African Apostolic Church as one of Zimbabwe’s most respected religious figures and a pillar for many both in Zimbabwe and beyond.

“Affectionately known as Mutumwa WeAfrica, he was the leader of the African Apostolic Church, shaping its doctrine, growth and identity through teachings anchored in holiness, unity and African self‑determination in worship,” the President said.

He added that Archbishop Mwazha’s teachings emphasized obedience and good citizenship, a philosophy that contributed to national development and stability.

“His passing is not a loss to his family alone but to the nation as a whole,” President Mnangagwa said, confirming that the Archbishop will be buried in Chirasauta on Sunday and will be conferred with national hero status.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa also mourned the passing of Justice Felicia Chatukuta, who died on 22 November 2025 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 63.

He highlighted her unwavering commitment to the justice‑delivery system, noting that her legacy has left an indelible mark on the nation.

She was buried at Glen Forest cemetery on Tuesday.

May their souls rest in eternal peace.
