As 2025 comes to a close, Vhayeya.com, a rising player in Zimbabwe’s digital media landscape, is reflecting on a remarkable year marked by growth, visibility, and impactful coverage of key national events.

Established with a vision to tell the Zimbabwean story from fresh perspectives, the online media house has carved out a space for itself in the country’s fast-evolving media sector.

From covering high-level political gatherings to showcasing economic milestones and national ceremonies, Vhayeya.com has proven its commitment to informing, engaging, and connecting Zimbabweans at home and in the diaspora.

National Presence and Coverage

One of the biggest highlights for Vhayeya.com this year was its presence at AFI Aviation Week, held in Victoria Falls from the 26th to 30th May 2025.

The prestigious event brought together aviation experts from across the continent and abroad to discuss growth in the aviation industry.

Vhayeya.com provided comprehensive real-time coverage, interviews with key stakeholders such as President of ICAO Mr Salvatore Sciacchitano, Mr Juan Carlos Salazar ICAO Secretary General and expert analysis, making its reports a go-to source for insights during the week-long event.

As the curtain closes on 2025, Vhayeya.com stands proud of its achievements, from covering events of national importance to amplifying Zimbabwean voices.

With ambition and a deepening footprint, the platform is poised to play an even bigger role in shaping the country’s media narrative in the coming year.

Economically, the Mine Entra Conference in Bulawayo where Vice President General (Rtd) C. G. D. N. Chiwenga was the guest of honour was another highlight.

As one of Zimbabwe’s premier mining exhibitions, the event drew industry giants, policy makers, and innovators.

The Mine Entra Conference coincided with the AfriConfex Conference that was held at the same venue, Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Hon. Advocate Felix Tapiwa Mhona (MP) officially opened the Conference a day before the kick off of the Mine Entra.

Vhayeya.com produced engaging coverage of emerging trends, new technologies, and investment opportunities in the mining sector, reaffirming its reputation as a serious business news platform.

Honouring the Nation’s Heroes

Beyond politics and economics, Vhayeya.com also maintained a strong presence in national remembrance events, including the burials of national heroes at the National Heroes Acre.

The media house respectfully reported on these solemn occasions, capturing the stories and sacrifices of those who shaped the nation’s liberation and development.

Vhayeya.com covered the triple burial of Cdes John Shumba Mvundura, Chen Chimutengwende, and Gen Siziba who were laid to rest on the same day, the double burial of Cde Basopo and Brig Gen Rungani at the National Heroes Acre, as well as the burial of Archbishop Mwazha in Chirasauta, to mention just a few.

A Growing Platform

Throughout the year, Vhayeya.com has grown both in audience and influence.

Its dynamic use of multimedia storytelling, social media engagement, and live reporting has attracted a broad following, particularly among young Zimbabweans seeking reliable and modern news delivery.

Vhayeya.com now boasts a growing digital presence with over 40,000 followers on Facebook, about 8,000 followers on its WhatsApp Channel, and over 2,000 subscribers on YouTube.

“Our mission has always been to give voice to stories that matter, using digital tools to reach people where they are. 2025 was a breakthrough year, and 2026 promises even greater strides,” said Lovemore Muchandiona Masunungure, founder of vhayeya.com

In the same year, the platform reported on major infrastructure milestones including the commissioning of the iconic Trabablas Interchange and the Norton Toll Plaza, projects that symbolize Zimbabwe’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its road networks.

Through in-depth stories, visual features, and public reactions, Vhayeya.com brought these developments closer to citizens.

“We are proud to have covered stories that reflect the country’s progress. Our aim is always to document Zimbabwe’s journey with depth, accuracy, and professionalism,” Masunungure said.

Political and Economic Reporting

In the political arena, Vhayeya.com covered the ZANU PF Annual Conference held in Mutare.

With a team on the ground, the platform delivered detailed coverage of the party’s key resolutions, speeches, and internal reflections, giving the public a clear window into the ruling party’s direction heading into 2026.

Founded with a mission to tell authentic Zimbabwean stories, especially from the grassroots, Vhayeya.com has gone beyond the expectations of a typical digital platform, balancing community reporting with national event coverage.

From sports and charity in Chikomba to high-profile political and economic events across the country, Vhayeya.com has emerged as one of the most dynamic and trusted online platforms in Zimbabwe.

Telling the Rural Story with Pride

Staying true to its roots as “village reporters,” Vhayeya.com maintained a strong presence in rural communities, particularly in Chikomba East, where it captured stories that often go unnoticed by mainstream media.

One of the major highlights was the coverage of the  Annual F. T. Mhona Annual Marathon, a fast-growing community event that draws athletes from the constituency.

The platform also gave full coverage to the F. T. Mhona Sports Tournament, which promotes youth development and talent identification in rural areas.

Athletes like Peter Tauzeni and Tafadzwa Mukandatsama have benefited from the sports events and are now participating in national competitions, while the Chikomba East select netball and soccer teams had the opportunity to compete in Belvedere, Harare.

“Our goal has always been to show that important stories happen outside the capital. These events bring people together, inspire youth, and deserve national attention,” Masungure said.

Beyond journalism, Vhayeya.com has extended its impact through the Vhayeya.com Foundation, which carried out several donation drives in Chikomba throughout the year.

From donating household supplies to supporting vulnerable families and the elderly, the foundation’s efforts have touched many lives.

“These are the communities that support us, so we must support them too. Our donations may be modest, but they come from the heart and make a real difference. Our fans decided to partner with us and formed the Vhayeya.com Foundation which at the moment is being led by Councillor Moreblessing Mushure as Chairperson.

“These people are not rich, but they do this philathropic work from the bottom of their hearts,” he added.

Visionary and Founder Masunungure attributed Vhayeya.com‘s milestone achievements to the dedicated team of journalists he works with, namely Jeremiah Gora, Chiedza Nyabadza, Matthew Chibaira, Farirai Mutumburanzou, and Gilchrist Muza, who consistently report on main news, sports, weather, and other related stories.

“I owe these achievements to the hardworking team behind Vhayeya.com. Without Jeremiah, Chiedza, Matthew, Farirai, and Gilchrist, none of this would be possible. This year’s success is a reflection of the dedication and passion shown by our journalists. I salute my team for going the extra mile to bring stories to life.

“Each of them plays a vital role, whether it is main news, sports, or weather, they have shown commitment beyond measure. I am truly proud to lead such a driven group. Our growth in 2025 is not by chance; it is because of this team’s tireless efforts. They have carried the Vhayeya.com vision with pride and professionalism,” said Masunungure.

Masunungure also extended his gratitude to Mr. Kudzai Choto, James, and Madam Thoko for their invaluable efforts behind the scenes, saying their support played a crucial role in Vhayeya.com‘s success throughout the year.

He described them as unsung heroes whose efforts often go unnoticed, yet their behind-the-scenes contributions are essential to the smooth running and success of Vhayeya.com.

As Vhayeya.com celebrates its 2025 milestone achievements, the support from Hon. F. T. Mhona is deeply appreciated, as he has played a significant role in assisting and uplifting the media house.

“We are truly grateful to Hon. Mhona for his unwavering support. He has believed in our vision from the start and continues to stand with us. Hon. Mhona’s encouragement and assistance have been a pillar of strength for Vhayeya.com. His support goes beyond words, it is practical and deeply appreciated.

“In every step we have taken, Hon. Mhona has been there in the background, cheering us on. We salute him for believing in the power of community-driven media. Hon. Mhona is not just a leader, he is a mentor and a friend to Vhayeya.com. We honour him for his consistent support and guidance throughout 2025. You cannot separate me from him as i am his constituency coordinator.

“Also, i thank ‘Rasta Lady’, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Infarstructural Development for believing in Vhayeya.com,” he said.

As the year 2025 comes to an end, Vhayeya.com is not only celebrating its achievements but also looking ahead with renewed ambition and focus.

The platform aims to expand its coverage beyond current boundaries, invest in more digital tools and strengthen its presence across all provinces.

With the lessons and successes of 2025 as a strong foundation, Vhayeya.com enters 2026 determined to amplify rural voices, break new ground in digital storytelling, and become one of Zimbabwe’s leading online media platforms.
