The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has appointed Eng. Simbarashe Gomo, Mrs. Diana Chimhanda, and Mr. Chameso Mucheka to its Board of Directors in a move aimed at strengthening the authority’s strategic and governance capacity.
Announcing the appointments, ZINARA said the new board members bring a blend of technical, planning, and economic expertise critical to the management of the national road network.
“These appointments are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the Board’s oversight role and ensure effective strategic direction in the delivery of road infrastructure across the country,” ZINARA said in a statement.
Eng. Gomo, a Professional Civil and Structural Engineer with more than 15 years of senior experience in infrastructure development and project management, currently serves as the Provincial Roads Engineer for Mashonaland West.
He has led several major national infrastructure projects and holds dual Master’s degrees in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance, and in Construction Project Management.
ZINARA said Eng. Gomo’s expertise would add significant value to the Board.
“His extensive experience in strategic infrastructure planning, regulatory compliance, and multi-stakeholder project delivery will be a considerable asset to the Board,” the authority said.
Mrs. Chimhanda, a seasoned Town Planner with over 30 years of public sector service, currently serves as the Director of Urban Design and Development.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe and has extensive experience in spatial planning and urban development management.
“Her profound experience in leadership, strategic oversight, and legal administrative processes within the planning domain will provide invaluable insight and guidance to the Board,” ZINARA said.
Mr. Mucheka, an Economic Analyst with a background in public sector service and international diplomacy, holds a Master of Technology degree in Strategy and Innovation and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Management.
His career includes senior roles in economic policy, planning, and representation at international organisations.
According to ZINARA, “his expertise in economic analysis, strategic governance, and policy development will be a significant asset to the Board’s decision-making processes.”
The authority expressed confidence that the appointments would strengthen institutional governance and support the effective management and development of Zimbabwe’s road infrastructure.
