Premier Soccer League side FC Hunters has formally advised the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) of internal restructuring measures aimed at strengthening the club’s governance structures and improving its capacity to attract sponsorship and sustainable funding.
In a letter addressed to PSL Chief Executive Officer Rodwell Thabe, the club said the changes were part of efforts to strengthen its structures and position the club to attract sponsorship and sustainable funding.
FC Hunters said the restructuring involved changes to its leadership framework, which were meant to streamline operations and ensure compliance with league regulations.
“Changes have been effected in the leadership framework. These adjustments are designed to streamline operations and ensure continued compliance with PSL governance requirements,” the club said.
The club added that all formal processes had been followed, noting that, “the necessary corporate resolutions have been passed, and all statutory filings are in progress.”
As part of the restructuring, FC Hunters announced new appointments to its leadership.
Daniel Shepherd Sakupwanya has been appointed club president, with Andrew Gore taking up the position of vice president (administration) and Prichard Sibanda named vice president (finance and operations).
The club executive will be led by chairperson Cathbert Chitima, with Collin Manyore appointed secretary general, Tendekai Sakupwanya as treasurer and Terence T. Malunga as chief executive officer.
FC Hunters said it had also submitted copies of its constitutive documents to the PSL, stating that these “may be necessary in terms of club licensing.”
The club stressed that the changes would not negatively affect its commitments to the league or its stakeholders.
“We confirm that these changes do not affect the club’s ability to meet its obligations to the League, players, or stakeholders. In fact, they do enhance it,” the letter reads.
The club further reaffirmed its commitment to league standards, saying it “remains fully committed to upholding the standards and integrity of the PSL.”
The letter was signed by Andrew Gore on behalf of FC Hunters.
It remains unclear which venue FC Hunters will use as their home ground, after Rudhaka Stadium do not meet Premier Soccer League standards, with the new season set to commence soon.
