Richard Kwenda the man who was chosen to represent the Kwenda family as it starts its efforts to resuscitate the Kwenda Paramount Chieftainship, says there is no known resistance to their efforts.

Speaking to Thevhayeya.com, Kwenda said Chiefs Neshangwe, Mutekedza, Maromo, Chivese, Makumbe and Svosve now have knowledge of their intention to resuscitate their Chieftainship taken away in the 1950s.

The family sat on Saturday to choose Mr Kwenda, and he is now set to present the issue to the ministry of local government.

“We are now going to the ministry to seek their position as our whole clan agreed when we sat on Saturday. The issue is just an appreciation of the call by the government to resuscitate all traditional Chieftainships which were taken away by the settler governments,” he said.

The Kwenda Chieftainship is said to be spanning from as far up as Featherstone via Masasa through Sadza and up to Mpatsi and Magarasadza though Vhayeya.com hasn’t set it’s eyes on the map.
