Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Hon. Kudakwashe Mupamhanga is using sport to engage young people in the fight against drug and substance abuse through the Bhuru Dzvuku Tournament.
The tournament forms part of his community outreach programme, bringing young people together through sport while promoting positive participation and awareness of the dangers of substance abuse.
The initiative complements the broader youth development mandate of his ministry and Zimbabwe’s national efforts to address drug and substance abuse.
The latest matches, held at Nyajenje Primary School in Mount Darwin South, reached the quarter-final stage as teams competed for places in the end-of-year finals.
Mupamhanga’s outreach programme also provides opportunities for residents to engage directly with their representative, alongside activities aimed at encouraging youth participation and community development.
