MP for Chikomba East, Honourable Felix Tapiwa Mhona, will launch his annual marathon in May at the 4th cluster celebrations in Masasa.

According to Mr. Masunungure, the coordinator for Hon Mhona’s office, the marathon will be launched at Masasa during the last cluster celebrations.

“The marathon will be launched at Masasa during the 4th cluster celebrations in May,” confirmed Masunungure.

Furthermore, Masunungure added that the program will feature 5km, 10km, and 21km races for both men and women.

“We are excited to announce that the Marathon Competition will feature a 5km race for women over 45, a 10km race for women under 45, a 5km race for men over 45, and a 10km and 21km race for men under 45,” he said.

In addition he said the annual competition is aimed at promoting wellness and healthcare for the local community.

“The annual competition is intended to improve the health and fitness of the people of Chikomba East, who are facing growing health problems due to a lack of exercise.

“The marathon competition is also aimed at combating drug and substance abuse among young people,” Masunungure added.

Masunungure further noted that the marathon would serve as a platform for talented athletes to be identified and further developed.

“The marathon will not only act as a talent search for athletes, but it will also recognize the potential of young athletes from Chikomba, including those like Elijah Mutandiro,” he said.

To participate in the marathon, interested individuals are encouraged to contact Mr Denny Chigweremba on 0772812754 for registration.

Meanwhile, Honourable Mhona will be hosting his third celebratory rally in Duvhurwi on Friday, April 5th.

Chairladies in Gokomere, Nharira, Duvhurwi, Rare, Lancashire, and Madamombe are expected to have their groups prepared for the rally.

Honourable Mhona is expected to provide day old chicks and feed to woman groups in his constituency, as part of his poultry project initiative.
