FC Platinum have appointed former Zimbabwe international Onismor Bhasera as the club’s new assistant coach.
Bhasera joins the Zvishavane-based side with extensive playing and coaching experience, having served on the technical teams of South African Premiership clubs Siwelele FC and SuperSport United.
His playing career saw him feature for clubs in Zimbabwe, South Africa and England, while also representing the Zimbabwe national team.
According to FC Platinum General Manager Collen Nikisi, Bhasera’s experience will strengthen the club’s technical department.
“Bhasera joins Pure Platinum Play bringing with him a wealth of experience from a distinguished playing and coaching career,” he said.
Nikisi said the former Warriors defender would work alongside head coach Thabo Senong as the club looks to develop its players and strengthen the squad.
“His experience, leadership and understanding of the game will add valuable depth to our technical team as we continue to strengthen the Club and build for the future,” he said.
Bhasera replaces Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, who has departed FC Platinum to take up a head coaching position in Botswana.
The club thanked Letsholonyane for his contribution during his time at FC Platinum.
“We thank Yeye for his contribution, professionalism and commitment during his time with FC Platinum and wish him every success in his new role,” Nikisi said.
Welcoming Bhasera to the club, Nikisi said FC Platinum was looking forward to benefiting from his experience and energy.
“We are delighted to welcome Onismor Bhasera to the Maplatso family and look forward to having his experience and energy as we continue building, competing and pushing for success.”
FC Platinum said the appointment was part of its continued efforts to build a strong foundation while maintaining its ambition to compete for honours.
