“Munhumutapa Cup Quarter finals”
By Milton Marima
The inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup quarter-finals kick off today, with the competition entering its decisive knockout stage. The men’s quarter-final programme begins this afternoon at Rufaro Stadium, where FC Hunters take on CAPS United at 3PM for a place in the last four.
Hunters go into the tie looking to continue their impressive cup run, while CAPS United, the only traditional giant remaining in the last eight, will be hoping their experience carries them through. Hunters midfielder Tadiwanashe Huni says his side is prepared to challenge Makepekepe and fight for a semi-final place.
The remaining men’s quarter-finals will be played tomorrow, with Scottland facing Bulawayo Chiefs at Rufaro, Hardrock meeting Herentals at Chahwanda Stadium, and Blanket Mine taking on FC Platinum at Phelandava Stadium.
With the tournament already producing surprises, the quarter-finals promise another weekend of knockout football as teams battle for the final four places and a step closer to the inaugural Munhumutapa Cup title.
