Zim-Moz ties were hailed at Mudzi North rally as Central Committee member Cde Chasakara has affirmed the strong ties between Zimbabwe and Mozambique, stating that the two countries have maintained a close relationship since the days of the Liberation Struggle.

Speaking at the “Mother of all thank you rally” held at Nyamapanda Primary School ward 1, Mudzi yesterday, Cde Chasakara underscored the enduring bond between Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

“The people of Zimbabwe and Mozambique have stood side-by-side since the days of the Liberation Struggle.

“And our shared history continues to unite us in friendship and solidarity.

“During the Liberation Struggle, Zimbabwean freedom fighters were trained and operated bases like Chimio in Mozambique, and this shared struggle forged an unbreakable bond between our two countries Zim-Moz ties,” Cde Chasakara declared.

Cde Chasakara asserted that the bonds forged between Zimbabwe and Mozambique, as well as Zanu-PF and FRELIMO, during the Liberation Struggle have cemented a unity that endures to this day.

“It is through these shared experiences and common struggles that the people of Zim-Moz, as well as Zanu-PF and FRELIMO, have become one,” stated Cde Chasakara.

Echoing Cde Chasakara’s sentiments, MP for Mudzi North Hon Benjamin Musweweshiri confirmed that Zanu-PF and FRELIMO have maintained strong and amicable relations since the days of the Liberation Struggle.

“Zim-Moz are united by history, shared values, and a common vision for the future.

“We relate to each other as brotherly nations, bound together by the ties that have endured since the days of the Liberation Struggle,” said Hon Musweweshiri.

Hon Musweweshiri extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Mozambican delegation for attending the “Mother of all thank you rally,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong ties between the two countries.

“I would like to express our profound gratitude to the Mozambican delegation for gracing us with your presence today.

“And for reaffirming the enduring friendship between our two great nations.

“Your presence here today is a powerful testament to the enduring bonds of solidarity and friendship that exist between Zimbabwe and Mozambique,” Hon Musweweshiri remarked.

Hon Musweweshiri announced his intention to provide transportation for a delegation from Mudzi North to attend the Mozambican Independence Day celebrations on June 25, 2024, as a gesture of goodwill and friendship between the two countries.

Highlighting the importance of unity within both countries, Lidre Misheck Magaso, the head of the Mozambican delegation, stressed the need for harmony between Zanu-PF and FRELIMO, as well as the people of Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

“We must remember that strength lies in unity.

“Zimbabwe and Mozambique, as well as Zanu-PF and FRELIMO, have a rich history of working together, and we must continue to foster this spirit of collaboration and cooperation

“Let us always remember that we are stronger when we stand together.

“Let us never forget the sacrifices that were made by our forefathers to bring us to where we are today, and let us continue to work towards a brighter future for our two countries,” declared Lidre Magaso.

Mozambique is scheduled to hold its seventh presidential and legislative election on October 9 this year, a landmark event that will shape the country’s future for years to come.

The 47-year-old presidential candidate for Mozambique’s ruling FRELIMO party, Cde Daniel Francisco Chapo, recently visited Zimbabwe to meet with government officials and members of the ruling Zanu-PF party, forging strong ties and discussing bilateral cooperation ahead of the forthcoming elections.

He promised to continue  working towards the development of the two countries’ economies, if he wins the elections.

“FRELIMO and Zanu-PF are sister parties, we are brothers

“Mozambique is Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe is Mozambique. That’s why we are always together.

“We are here because we want to be closer to Zanu-PF. We want to continue fight to develop our countries and to get peace,” he said.

The Mother of all thank you rally was also attended by Zanu-PF district, Provincial and national members and several groups provided entertainment including Gure from Mozambique.
