Vhayeya.com founder Lovemore Masunungure extends a salute to the audience and media team as the platform continues its upward trajectory, reaching a milestone of over 5,000 followers on its WhatsApp channel.
Masunungure said that despite being launched less than two years ago, the online media house has rapidly become a trusted hub for news updates, reaching audiences not only within the country but also beyond its borders, particularly in South Africa.
“I am thrilled with the phenomenal growth Vhayeya.com has achieved in such a short space of time. We are excited as a team with the achievements. We are now transitioning from our traditional WhatsApp groups, of which we have 21 at the moment, to promote our WhatsApp channel and grow its followers.
“We are happy that the channel recently reached over 5,000 followers,” said Masunungure.
He also said Vhayeya is comprised of young journalists who have grown to make a significant impact in the industry.
“We are village reporters, and our desire is to continue reporting news from marginalized places like Chikomba, Chipinge, and Mutoko
“We report on issues that take place in those areas, and we know that is where our audience is.
“Nowadays, many people are living in the diaspora, and we’re here to connect them with what is happening daily back home. We also cover news from national and international events,” he said.
Masunungure further noted that Vhayeya’s reach extends to multiple platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and its official website.
“We are not just on WhatsApp; we’re also on other social media platforms.
“Recently, we have introduced ‘The Weekly Scoop,’ which is currently hosted by Gilchrist Muza, and we have seen a lot of interest and engagement from our followers on YouTube.
“Additionally, we have recently fine-tuned our programming, and our daily weather updates by Farirai Mutumburanzou have garnered a huge following.
“As for sports updates, I would like to extend my gratitude to Jeremiah Gora for the timely updates, and also to Chiedza Nyabadza and Matthew Chibaira for providing daily news updates,” he concluded.
Masunungure also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to stakeholders who have supported Vhayeya’s growth and success.
“It would be unfair if I did not extend my thanks to our stakeholders, Farm Shop, for their support.
“I would also like to thank Hon. Felix Mhona, as you might know, I am his constituency coordinator, and we appreciate the support he has given us thus far,” Masunungure said.
