A private clinic in Ward 27, Chirasauta area of Chikomba, established by Dr Zephania and Mildred Matanga to assist locals, got a shot in the arm as it received medical equipment yesterday that will help improve health service delivery.
The Fine Care testing equipment, including a full blood count machine, an enzyme tester, and a diagnostic machine for use on pregnant mothers, will enable the clinic to offer vital primary health assistance to members of the community.
Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Min Itayi Ndudzo, speaking through his representative, Madam Dzivaidzo Mumbengegwi, a Deputy Director of Environment in his office, said the government will continue to prioritise issues of promoting and providing access to quality healthcare for all, under the mantra of HE Cde Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa of leaving no one and no place behind in terms of development.
He said the donation of medical equipment, as well as the commissioning of a block at the facility, was a clear testament to the government’s vision and its open-door policy, where it continues to work with partners from all over the world on its “friend to all and enemy to none” policy.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Ambassador, H.E Hon Adler Aristide, said his government has accelerated its support for various community development programmes in Zimbabwe.
“Canada and Zimbabwe share a long-standing relationship that is not only about development assistance, but also about standing together to empower communities and create opportunities for all. project is a clear example of those values in action ” he said.

And to Hon Minister Mhona, we say as we celebrate this healthcare milestone, I also want to acknowledge the critical role of infrastructure development. Canada has extensive experience in sustainable infrastructure and transport support systems,” he said.
The MP for Chikomba East Constituency and Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Hon F. T. Mhona was represented by Mr Lovemore Masunungure who also appreciated the donation.
“We as the people of Chikomba East appreciate anything that helps to improve the lives of the people in this Constituency. We appreciate the climate and condition that is being provided under the Second Republic by the wise leadership of His Excellency Cde, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa where he had declared that Zimbabwe is an enemy to none and friend to all, thereby by making it possible for local and international agencies to come and bring in key assistance like this equipment we are receiving here today.
“We will continue to seek ways to help improve delivery of service at all the medical institutions working with the Chikomba Rural District Council as well as partners like Dr Matanga.
“We also would want to request our councillors to assist our staff at public institutions wherever possible and even on government support programmes like Pfumvudza input support from government where we request that you prioritize them so that they are motivated as they deliver their important duties at their workplaces.
The event was also attended by traditional leaders, Chief Neshangwe as well as Chief Chitsunge from Buhera and Headman Mutengwa.
Chief Neshangwe thanked the Canadian government for the donation and described it as fundamental in bringing quality health to the community.
Councillor for ward 27 Cllr Lawrence Watambwa and Cllrs Chikuruwo ward 24 Mushowe Ward 30, and Cllr Dzirukwe of Ward 28 were in attendance as well as the senior government officials from Chikomba.
