The battle for Limpopo is heating up today as Zimbabwe takes on South Africa in a do-or-die Group B encounter at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Ahead of tonight’s clash, South Africa sits on second position with 3 points, while Zimbabwe has 1 point, making the match a must-win for the Warriors.

Warriors Captain, Marvelous Nakamba, has issued a stern warning to his team, stating that they must register a win at all costs against South Africa tonight to keep their AFCON 2025 hopes alive.

“We will play like it’s our last game on earth,” vows Zimbabwe captain Marvelous Nakamba.

A win will see Zimbabwe qualify for the Round of 16 for the first time ever.

South Africa will be hoping to punish Zimbabwe for a FIFA World Cup qualifier draw that almost derailed their qualification.

South Africa Coach Hugo Broos has warned that Zimbabwe will be a tough opponent, saying “It will be a very tough game for us” and acknowledging the Warriors’ motivation to upset Bafana Bafana.

He added,” They are playing a different way, this is not the Zimbabwe of Six months ago,” said Broos.

He highlighted that a draw is the minimum requirement to get his team into the next stage.

Zimbabweans are divided over Mario Marinica’s team selection, with some backing his bold choices while others are skeptical about his tactical decisions for tonight’s crucial AFCON clash against South Africa.

The exclusion of Daniel Musendami, who put in a solid performance in the opening game, and Masvanhise, who’s still waiting for his AFCON debut, has left some Zimbabweans puzzled and questioning Marinica’s team selection.

Defender Teenage Hadebe is ruled out of tonight’s clash against South Africa after picking up a knock in the previous game, dealing a blow to Zimbabwe’s defensive plans.

Warriors have never advanced to the Round of 16 at AFCON, while South Africa won the 1996 competition, and they are looking to make it to the knockout stages this time around.
