Coach Ephraim Dzvairo has parted ways with the 2025 Division 1 Eastern Region Champions, Hunters FC.

Dzvairo announced the news earlier today on his Facebook page.

“My FC Hunters Family,

“Time to say Goodbye! Today is a bittersweet moment as I bid farewell to the team and supporters who have become like family. The journey we have shared has been one of triumphs, trials, and ultimately, triumph again – our championship win will forever be etched in my heart,” said Dzvairo.

He went on to thank the players and supporters for the time they spent together.

“To the players, my staff and the team executive your dedication and passion have inspired me. To the FC Hunters family of supporters, your energy, chants, and unwavering support have been the fuel that drove us forward.

“You will be remembered, and I will carry the memories of this incredible season with me. To the town of Marondera and Rudhaka Stadium, you’re home to me now,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the club for the moments they shared during his time there.

“Though I am moving on, the bond we have formed will remain. Keep chasing those dreams, Hunters!

“I came as a boy, i am leaving as a man. Coach Cliffy says goodbye, but the memories stay,” he said.

Coach Dzvairo did not disclose his next destination.

His tenure saw the team win 14 games, draw 2, and lose 3 out of 19 matches.

Hunters FC is yet to issue a formal statement regarding the coach’s departure.

Dzvairo made history by becoming the youngest coach to guide a team into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after leading Marondera-based side to the 2025 Eastern Region Soccer League Division One title.

Hunters won the title with one game to spare after their 2-1 win over rivalsTenax FC.

Dzvairo has formerly worked with JM Busha 54 FC, St Paul’s Msami FC, and Destiny Stars FC all in the Eastern Region.

In December last year, he attended a coaching course in Tanzania, further upgrading his qualifications.
