The dawn of the Second Republic in Zimbabwe has led to a significant development boom across all sectors.

Significant developmental and infrastructural projects have been observed, particularly in and around the capital city of Harare.

Several projects have been completed, while many others are at various stages, reflecting a level of development unprecedented in the country’s history.

The village walk along Borrowdale Road has undergone a modern facelift, and the road resurfacing has truly made it a wonder to many.

Furthermore, the Highlands Park along Emmerson Mnangagwa Road, formerly Enterprise Road, is a modern destination with restaurants.

It was recently completed and officially opened by His Excellency Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, similar to his recent opening of The Madokero on the western side of the capital.

However, other projects are at different stages, including the extensive Afreximbank Project at the corner of Chitepo and 7th Street.

The multistory building is set to surpass both the Reserve Bank and the popular Joina City Mall in terms of both height and architecture.

The city’s development narrative has been overshadowed by the extensive expansion at the RGMI Airport.

The RGMI Airport has undergone significant upgrades and is now one of the premier airports in the Southern Region.

The near completion of the VVIP Pavilion Lounge at RGMI Airport marks a significant step towards enhancing tourism in the country.

The historic expansion of Harare to Mt Hampden is undeniably the location where the new city is set to emerge. This rapid expansion is centered around a significant road infrastructure development, exemplified by the monumental Mbudzi Interchange.

This landmark project, set for completion this year, features 15 bridges and is clearly a solution to the congestion that has been a concern around the southern gateway of the city of Harare.

However, the narrative of development would not be complete without mentioning the Boulevard that links the Bindura road and the new Parliament Building.

Indeed, as the President stated, Zimbabwe is destined to achieve monumental developmental heights up to and beyond 2030.
