The arrival of Knowledge Musona to join local Mabvuku outfit is not about joining a local Mabvuku team, but rather his return to the Zimbabwe national team, the Warriors, after ending his international retirement in May 2022.
Musona has joined Scotland FC following his departure from Saudi Pro League, Al Okhdood after his contract ended last month.
He started his senior career with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, and he has never featured in any Zimbabwean league.
This is going to be the first time.
It is also going to be his first time playing in the same team with his brother Walter Musona, who also captains the Scotland FC squad.
Musona’s return has generated excitement among fans and teammates, including Khama Billiat, who praised Musona’s presence as a great motivation for the squad.
It has been notable that Scotland intent to be on top as it keeps signing top players
Scotland also now have experienced Terrence Dvukamanja in their dress room and he has shown his firing prowess in the last match, scoring a brace.
The ambitious Mabvuku side announced the signing of Mafios Chihweta from Highlanders.
Meanwhile, CAPS United have also signed striker Adam Tende from Masvingo United, while reigning champions and log leaders Simba Bhora have signed former Zimbabwe youth international Tapiwa Mandinyenya.
The former Ngezi Platinum striker was with South African second tier side JDR Stars.
Troubled Harare giants seem to be concentrating on avoiding relegation with no player signings during the window period which is about to close.
The Glamour Boys only appointed experienced Kelvin Kaindu, who was sacked by bitter rivals Highlanders as Head coach, replacing suspended Saul Chaminuka.
Kaindu signed a six-month contract, and his mandate is to survive relegation.
Knowledge Musona’s first game at Scotland will be a blockbuster versus FC Platinum whom are yet to taste defeat in the league.
Scotland are now second, just a point behind leaders Simba Bhora.
