Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development and Member of Parliament for Chikomba East Constituency, Honourable Felix Tapiwa Mhona, yesterday visited Mudawarima Primary School to express gratitude to his constituents for their support in the August 2023 elections.

He expressed his gratitude to President Dr Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, commending the President’s work and vision, and thanking him for the trust he has placed in him.

The Minister said, “I am very grateful to the President for his leadership and for giving me the opportunity to serve. He has a clear vision for this country, and I am proud to be a part of that. I will do my best to continue to deliver on his vision and make a positive impact on the lives of the people.”

Addressing the assembled crowd, Honourable Mhona thanked the community for entrusting him with the responsibility of representing them in Parliament and assured them of his commitment to working for the betterment of the constituency.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the people of Chikomba East for entrusting me with their vote and giving me the opportunity to serve as their representative in Parliament. It is an honor to have your confidence and I will work tirelessly to deliver on the promises I made to you during the campaign,” said Hon Mhona.

Honourable Mhona went on to outline his priorities for the next term, including improving infrastructure and access to services, creating jobs, and supporting small businesses.

“I want to assure you that the rehabilitation of roads in Chikomba East is one of my top priorities. The road that passes through Sadza Growth Point, Neshangwe is going to be rehabilitated up to Buhera.

“I know that the state of the roads in our constituency is a major concern for many residents, and I am committed to making sure that they are repaired and maintained to the highest standards,” he said.

The MP went on to say that when it comes to employment, the locals will be considered first.

“I want to make it clear that my goal is to ensure that local people are given priority when it comes to job opportunities related to the rehabilitation of roads in Chikomba East.

“We are going to have training programs on how to to operate machinery such as graders, and Mr Masunungure is going to help. I know we have people with skills in the area,” he said.

In response to concerns raised by the residents of Chikomba East, Honourable Felix Tapiwa Mhona pledged to support local schools and women’s groups.

“I understand that Mudawarima Primary and Secondary schools, as well as the women’s groups in the area, have been struggling to access the resources they need to operate effectively.

“I am aware of the challenges that many families in our constituency are facing when it comes to accessing enough food to meet their needs. I will be working with relevant government departments to find solutions to this problem,” said Hon Mhona.
