Thousands thronged the Guvambwa shrine today to bid farewell to the late National Hero and Church leader, Archbishop Mutumwa Paul Mamvura Mwazha.

The body of the late Archbishop Mwazha was airlifted to Chikomba midday today, where it will spend the night at the Guvambwa holy shrine.

Speaker after speaker, described the late Mutumwa Paul Mwazha, as a religious hero, a true man of faith.

“We are gathered here at Guvambwa, our holy shrine to celebrate the life of our leader Mutumwa.

“Mutumwa was a man of God, i am short of words to describe him. He is irreplaceable, there is no one who can substitute him.

” Mutumwa fought a good fight and today we are celebrating his legacy,” said Bishop Lovemore Takawira Mharadze Chiome.

Church leaders also described him as a man who advocated for peace.

“We remember him as a man of peace, who inspired many across Africa.

“He dedicated his life to serve God. He left a legacy, and we will always remember him. He taught us to love one another,” said Mai Bishop Juru.

Minister of State Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East, Hon Advocate Itayi Ndudzo, commended the government for honouring the late National Hero, Archbishop Paul Mwazha.

“As Mashonaland East, we are happy and grateful that our beloved National Hero, Archbishop Paul Mwazha, has been honoured in a manner befitting his lifelong service to the nation.”

“The recognition of Archbishop Mwazha’s legacy reinforces the unity and spirit of ubuntu that binds our province together.”

“His teachings of holiness, unity and self‑determination will continue to inspire future generations across Mashonaland East.”

“This tribute is a testament to the Government’s commitment to honour those who have shaped our country’s moral fabric like him, Bishop Manhango, Archbishop Guti”

“We stand together in solidarity, celebrating the life of a true patriot whose impact reaches far beyond the church,” said Hon Ndudzo.

Members, thousands, of the African Apostolic Church will have the chance to bid farewell throughout the night through a body‑viewing ceremony.

The late Archbishop will be laid to rest tomorrow in Chirasauta, Chikomba East.

Indeed, Mutumwa was truly “Mamvura,” as rains poured all day at Guvambwa.
