Surrey truck driver from Chikomba, Hughdin Jacha, has reportedly died on the spot while transporting meat from Rutenga.
He was from Warikandwa in ward 24 of Chikomba District near paFirimon.
The fatal crash occurred at Rutenga along the Beitbridge–Harare Highway involving a side-tipper truck and the refrigerated Surrey truck.
According to early reports, the driver of the side-tipper attempted to overtake and went into a head-on collision with the refrigerated truck.
The accident led to tonnes of beef being scattered all over the tarmac.
A family member Mr Norbet Muzondo described the loss as devastating.
“The tragic news of his death as a result of a head-on collision along Masvingo-Beitbridge road in the early morning of yesterday, the 17th of November,2025 was devastating.
“To me he was more of a son owing to the God given bond that existed between us. May his departed soul find peace with God.” Said Mr Muzondo.
