Minister to Lead Three-Day Media Tour of Road Projects in Masvingo, Matabeleland South

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development will host journalists from various media houses on a three-day tour of road infrastructure projects in Masvingo and Matabeleland South provinces, Vhayeya.com has learned.

The tour will start on Wednesday, the 8th of October to 10th of October 2025.

The tour, which will see Honorable Minister Felix Tapiwa Mhona assessing progress on key projects, will conclude with a visit to the Maitengwe Border Post along the Zimbabwe-Botswana frontier.

Vhayeya.com is among the more than twenty media houses participating in the tour.

On Wednesday, Minister Mhona will join Masvingo’s Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honorable Ezra Chadzamira.

Their itinerary includes assessing work on the Masvingo trumpet interchange and the Mucheke bypass bridges.

They will also inspect sections of the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway being constructed by various contractors, including the dualization of approximately 16km at Ngundu and roadworks in the Mwenezi area.

On Thursday, the Minister will be accompanied by his counterpart from Matabeleland South, Honorable Albert Nguluve.

The day’s activities will feature the commissioning of the Beitbridge Road Maintenance Unit, followed by inspections of the ongoing Beitbridge-Bulawayo Road rehabilitation and the Gwanda-Maphisa project.

The tour will conclude on Friday with a visit to the Maitengwe Border Post.

There, Minister Mhona will assess the progress of the Plumtree-Maitengwe Border Post Road rehabilitation project.

The Ministry of Transport is engaged in several road rehabilitation projects across the country.
