President Mnangagwa removes Chitando as Cabinet Minister, appoints Kambamura

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has removed Honourable Winston Chitando from his role as Minister of Mines and Mining Development, with immediate effect.

In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, said the removal was made in terms of Section 340 as read with Section 108 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has in terms of Section 340, subsection (1f) as read with Section 108, subsection (1a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe removed Winston Chitando as Cabinet Minister with immediate effect,” read the statement.

Dr Rushwaya further revealed that President Mnangagwa has appointed Honourable Polite Kambamura as the new Minister of Mines and Mining Development.

The cabinet reshuffle takes effect immediately.

Honourable Polite Kambamura was the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development prior to this new development.
