St Peter Claver Primary School, located in Chishawasha was given recognition for its outstanding contribution to education in a ceremony held at St Francis of Assisi School on the 30th of July 2025.

In addition, its headmaster, Mr Settled Bozho was honoured with the highest accolade in the education sector: The Secretary’s Bell.

Mr Bozho, who is originally from Mahusvu Village in Chivhu, has risen from humble beginnings to becoming a respected leader in the education system of Zimbabwe.

Famous for his unwavering discipline, humility and passion in the education sector, he had transformed St Peter Claver into a beacon of academic and moral excellence.

Teachers, students, and school heads from across the region gathered to witness the moment.

At the event, the Permanent Secretary of Education, Hon. Moses Mhike, presented a polished brass bell mounted on a mahogany stand to Mr. Bozho.

The bell is only awarded to school leaders who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and impact.

“This bell rings for the generations Mr. Bozho have inspired. May it echo the values he has instilled: respect, hard work, and excellence,” said Hon. Mhike.

The award places St. Peter Claver among a prestigious group of schools recognized over the years for their dedication to educational upliftment.

Previous receivers of the award include Runyararo Primary (2021), Dulestone Primary (2022), and Hokodzi Primary (2024), while in the secondary category, Nyadire High (2023) and Chemhanza High (2024) have also been celebrated.

The bell now proudly hangs on the school’s notice board, serving as a daily reminder of a legacy shaped by vision and service.
