They put on an even more outstanding display in the second set, defeating Christbel and Esnath and winning with a stunning 21-5 score.

Harare witnessed an exciting match as the Zambezi Amazons held onto their lead and extended their winning streak.

The Zambezi Amazons cemented their dominance as the top team in the 12-team league with their outstanding victory.

The secret to Nyengeterai and Vuyiswa’s success has been their on-court camaraderie and expertise, which have allowed them to routinely outperform their opponents and wow onlookers.

Mr Njerere, the league’s technical manager said debutants, Christbel and Esnath’s showed potential to excel in the league.

“Despite their late entry into the league, the two have a bright future ahead of them and that their potential should not be undervalued. With further exposure and expertise, they should become a formidable force in beach volleyball,” he said.

Mr Njerere also said Charity Garwe and Ami Nyabusha are another team to keep an eye on, though they could be taking their time getting into the groove.

“Their development suggests that they have the potential to be serious league competitors,” he said.

Beach volleyball is becoming more and more popular in Zimbabwe, where players from across the country are drawn to its exhilarating and quick-paced style.

Speaking positively about the sport’s future, Mr Njerere envisioned Zimbabwean teams competing in major international competitions like the Olympics and the All Africa Games.

Beach volleyball is gaining popularity, which is indicative of the love the country has for the game and its potential to overtake other volleyball variations in Zimbabwe.

As the Harare women’s beach volleyball league progresses, the Zambezi Amazons continue to set the bar high, inspiring aspiring athletes and captivating fans with their remarkable performances.

With their sights set on maintaining their pole position, Nyengeterai Guyo and Vuyiswa Dhlomo are determined to prove that they are not only the best team in Zimbabwe but also a formidable presence on the international beach volleyball stage.
